UCLA was one of the biggest debters, and only their lawsuit against Under Armour was the reason they haven't gone under already.

I think it would be a HUGE mistake to try and add any of the PAC teams until more information about the financial health of those schools athletic departments is made known.

Besides, I haven't seen any evidence being reported yet that adding any of the PAC teams doesn't dilute the B12 distributions yet. If there's a decrease in revenue by adding teams, there's really no point.

Why are the PAC teams in so much debt? Do they not know how to manage their money?

Sent from the Warp via the ruinous powers of Chaos!

They put a ton of money into their Olympic sports, especially women’s. Many of those schools sponsor 34-36 sports.

Sounds like there is going to have to he serious budget cuts in the future.

For example Cal has 30 Varsity sports:
Men- baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, gymnastics, rowing, rugby, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field and water polo

Women: Basketball, beach volleyball, cross country, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, volleyball and water polo.

Stanford has 36- including all the above plus fencing, sailing, wrestling, artistic swimming and squash.

What is “artistic swimming and squash” That sounds like the epitome of a how much money can we waste in creative ways.
