Would Memphis add value if they didn’t think the rest of the PAC 12 could do that?

Its all about the TV $$$$ per team. If adding a school doesn't at least keep everyone at par then that school doesn't get added.

There is probably some minimum number of schools that need to be in a league in order to have enough 'content' - probably 10 to 12 schools.

There also might be 'package deals' that involve two schools sticking together for one reason or another.

So, unless a conference gets raided to below 10-12 members or the TV dollars make it a winner - the major conferences don't look interested in adding just to add.

I don't see this as favorable for Memphis at the moment.

After this year the AAC will be a drag on Memphis and thinking that Memphis is going to dominate the weaker AAC isn't automatic at all.

The teams that got left behind in CUSA when Memphis moved on did not fare well at all with UAB being the lone exception and how good were they really? Not too great.
