The numbers in the Equity OPE are accounted for slightly different than the Knight Commission, and honestly, the knight commission numbers are more reflective of actual revenues / expenses. Schools regularly fudge OPE numbers and if you look carefully, almost all are balanced to the dollar. My understanding from analysts working on school valuations (relative to realignment) is that they are using Knight Commission numbers. There is one caveat: only the OPE requires most private schools to report while none HAVE to report to the Knight Commission because they receive some sort of state or federal funding.

TexanMark hits this one on the head-- not only did Syracuse have low numbers due to Covid, they aren't reporting items related to the Carrier dome in the OPE Equity numbers...and if they had reported to the Knight Commission those numbers would have been included as revenue. Syracuse is a mint...he's not kidding.
