CUSA and WAC with the same seed this year.

I did say that would happen. We saw some really good runs by teams that will stay with CUSA. UAB is about as strong as NMSU so the seeding makes sense.

If North Texas would have won the CUSA tourney, I believe they would have been seeded higher than 12. They are a 2 seed in the NIT.

Yup, and conversely if NMSU had not won the WAC tournament, it is unlikely another WAC school would have received a 12 seed. As I pointed out one before, the years NMSU did not go to the NCAA tournament, the WAC representative received a 15 seed. NMSU's winning program has artificially elevated the WAC's auto-bid seed. Unless someone else steps up their OOC performance after NMSU leaves, I expect the WAC auto-bid to drop to 13 or worse.

I thought there were several informed posters on here that said NMSU schedules cupcakes and never beats anyone of note? Maybe I just dreamt that...
