Planned Campus Changes
Found some interesting planned changes for 2022 in the written board response to the no confidence vote. Welborn Hall (print management bldg), Woodland Place (on campus day are center by the Fetzer Center) and the Goldsworth North Valley apartments are in the process of demolition and sited as a positive action by the administration.

In August, when the new student center opens, the old and neighboring Henry Hall will be torn down. No plans for replacement were presented at this time for the spaces cleared.

Apparently a survey of admitted but not enrolled students (each year since 2017) most often listed "campus environment" as the reason for going elsewhere. The South Neighborhood (site of the new dorm and SC) is the first response to upgrading the campus. I tend to agree that the old dorm buildings there were not particularly enticing.

This week the city of Kalamazoo announced plans to replace aging culverts across Stadium Drive near the field-house intersection with Oliver street by the end of April. The announcement indicated this is in preparation of a major rebuild of Stadium Dr from the west at Howard street past Waldo Stadium to Lovell Street. This will include a landscaped median, a multi-use path, new traffic signals and ADA requirements (handicapped).

The campus is certainly going to have a different feel going forward, and I hope it is for the better!
