The series was initially scheduled in like 2013 or 2014. Mizzou had been trying for years to rearrange the schedule to allow for 7 home games in 2022. At first they tried to get MTSU to flip the 2022 and 2023 games so that Mizzou could be home in 22 and in Murfreesboro in 23. MTSU declined. Then Mizzou offered money to get them to do that and MTSU still declined because of their own scheduling situation in 2023.

Mizzou is paying the buyout per the contract. I understand some of the frustration on the part of Blue Raiders fans but this had been in the works for several years. I was in Murfreesboro over the summer and was planning on coming back if the game went as scheduled but such is life.

He's not an MT fan.

Anyway, this is just the business of big boy college football. It's not a big deal. The only way this really becomes a problem for us is if the three members departing for the Sun Belt leave this year. That will leave us needing to schedule five games between now and this summer.
