His attempts went way down once he got to UAB, which goes back to my point that we don’t do a good job of getting guys open.

Ertel had some good looks last night. A couple late AK mentioned without bringing up names. If we're going to be a good team, somebody has to knock those down. I was hoping JJ would be that guy but he is off to a miserable start (3-16 3pts). Johnson shot 36% and 38% from 3 the last two seasons in the SEC.

I don't disagree that he had a couple of good looks, but they mostly came off broken plays. He needs to knock some of those down, but it's a different mindset when you know you're about to get the ball to shoot versus randomly getting the ball out of chaos.

JJ is another great example of a guy struggling to find quality shots in the flow of the offense.

For some of these guys who are just good versus great shooters, shot quality is important. It's rare that we ever get an open three; there's almost always a guy within two feet of the shooter.

I can't really put my finger on it, but there's something about AK's offense that makes things harder than necessary. We do a lot of dribbling, but I don't see a lot of off-ball movement from the other guys. Having two bigs in the paint doesn't help.
