This thread is an example of that.

Instead of reading his article about his mother as an expression of love and loss, a beautifully written piece in my opinion, a few people chose to take the opportunity to attack the son and author and turn into the something ugly.

I foolish attempted to share something I thought should be something we can all identify with whether we liked or agreed with anything else he might be or say. Anonymous people hiding behind made up names feel entitled to lose their civil restraints. Plain facts? No, I think just plain opinions.

My Name is George Burns, and I live in Somerville TN. Easy enough to find if you really want to. And I don't mean to be indelicate, but WE ON THE RIGHT of center are fed up with the left's condescension, bullying, and canceling. I will no longer be polite. I will not be silent. A guy like this interjects his politics into something that is supposed to bring us in the midsouth (radio region) TOGETHER.... namely, sports talk radio, and I'M SUPPOSE TO BE HUMBLE AND POLITE???? HELL NO.

I feel ya', George. And, I agree with 95% of your posts.

But, to give out your name on the interwebs...yikes. 04-jawdrop

I've got nothing to hide. If Caulkins wants to drive out to Somerville and find me, I will be willing to engage him in a debate. I ain't skeered. Lord knows I've tried to call into his station to rebut a point or two of his.

Have you ever emailed him directly?

I have not used that method. Back when I thought I could actually change his and Gary's policies, I went the Factbook route. Made contact. No difference.
