Be sure to walk around the stadium so you can see down into the valley at El Paso and Ciudad Juarez so you can see one of the most stark contrasts in standard of living you'll ever see in your life.

And think of Marty Robins and Feleena while doing so.

Best of Lick!

I heard SBC has already scheduled campus visits. They intend on emulating the AAC plan with some minor changes. Increased exposure and revenue will be the primary factors in choices. Primary candidates:

Tulsa or Memphis or Marshall
UAB
SMU
UTSA or Rice
USF
FAU

ODU is not under consideration.

Memphis is iffy for the reasons their president listed in regard to the Big 12 invite.

Exchanging teams between conferences may be part of the plan. This will create the regional conferences we have heard about for the last 25 years. I could see USA or Troy going off to CUSA to bring UAB in. SBC will not have three schools in Alabama. There is still a possibility of a new conference being formed if schools resist the move to a new conference. In the end, this may be the best way to form the strongest conference and have one, or two, conferences remain.

The above plan brings in major TV and recruiting markets in Texas and Florida.
Solid programs in SMU and FAU. And UAB if they come in. Plus it pairs up schools and offers regional schools to reduce travel costs. And you lock up the SE states from VA (Maybe WVA) to Ga and Florida.

LOL sure. You make it sound like we are talking about SEC membership. ODU isn't interested in joining Sunbelt as it exists now no offense to anyone. if that's the case we don't need to leave CUSA because they are spread from TX to SC and i don't really see paying exit fees etc for just being in the same situation.
How would it be the same situation? One Texas school vs 3 (one in El Paso). Sunbelt would have App, GSU, GState and Coastal all closer than anybody in CUSA except Marshall and UNCC.
