I've been saying the same thing. Why can we not get a P5 program at home? A lot of schools with less money than us have been able to. Even a top flight mid major at home would be nice. Hell, Troy had Boise at home a couple of years ago. Yes, we had Louisiana at home last year and Liberty at home this year, but they weren't established when we scheduled them. If it takes doing a two for one or even a three for one to get an Arkansas or a Miss St or a Louisville at home, let's do it.

Pretty sure someone is going to give us the rah-rah pep talk while the other one says we gotta give more money. I should probably cease and desist.

The easy answer is Legion Field. No one has wanted to play there in about 15 years. ADs of the other schools have to answer to their fans, too. Toxic waste dump or I am gonna have to watch the game on Facebook? No thanks.

There was a time early in UAB football when Legion Field made it possible to get a Kansas or Va Tech. That time ended by the early 2000s. It isn’t coincidence that UAB hasn’t hosted a P5 opponent since Mississippi State in 2011. Dreadful game, dreadful venue, crowd generously announced at 28,000 of which more than half were MSU fans, broadcast to the nation on TBS. No P5 AD is gonna take his team to that environment if he/she has other options
