They call themselves Wahoos or Hoos as their primary designation in just about every thing.

For those that don't know, their actual mascot name is the Cavaliers.

Don't see why that's more obvious than your Hokies. You were a Hoki first, then a Hokie, then a Gobbler, evolving to the Fighting Gobblers until the 80's, then came back to Hokies when the Hokiebird was introduced at the Tech/Wake Forest game in '81 arriving by helicopter.
