RE: 2022 Baseball
Glavine landed another talented and multi-sport athlete from Mass.

RHP/SS Aiven Cabral from Lynn committed last week.

Here's what New England Baseball Journal had to say about Cabral...

October has brought with it a few big-name commitments for local college programs. Northeastern landed one of most accomplished Massachusetts pitchers in the Class of 2022 last week when St. Mary’s senior Aiven Cabral announced his intentions to join the Huskies next fall.

Cabral was absolutely dominant on the mound in 2021, posting a record of 8-0 while allowing just five runs on 32 hits in 64.2 innings. He posted 106 strikeouts on his way to earning CCL Pitcher of the Year honors.

Cabral fits the mold of the prototypical Northeastern commit during Mike Glavine‘s tenure as coach. Cabral is an athlete first — he batted in the No. 3 spot as well for St. Mary’s — and he has plenty of upside due to his lack of experience playing on the national stage. He’s gotten a chance to do more of that since the end of the 2021 season, and he’s currently in Jupiter, Fla., with the Boston Red Sox Scout Team. He closed out the Game 2 win.
