Barrett Sallee, the guy that said he’s full of excrement, has over 95K followers. Enough said…

Does it cost anything to be a follower on Twitter? Who cares how many followers somebody has if it doesn't translate to eyeballs on media broadcasts for any of the schools he may be touting?

Generally there is a direct correlation between the number of followers a Twitter user has and the authenticity of their tweets. The lower the number of followers the better the chance the account is just a troll. Not much different than here really.

Thanks for asking 04-cheers

Well, if that were true then all the politicians with hundreds of thousands or millions of followers would have to be considered reliable and trustworthy. Trusting politicians is against my religion, however. 03-wink

Really though, the number of followers someone has just translates to how well known they are. Big time media guys with national platforms are going to have more followers than guys with lesser reach. The trolls are generally people who don't even use their real name.
