Offensively he is not skilled. Today's big man is not relied on to be a big time scoring threat. Many teams do not have an offensively skilled big man, that is not what they are looking for. This is not the 90's where you have players like Shaq and Patrick Ewing that you are giving the ball to on the block and letting them go to work.

He fits the current NBA big man perfectly. Long, athletic, great defender and can make rim runs. As has been pointed out several times, he has only been playing basketball a handful of years and was supposed to be a senior in high school last year...

C’mon. How much improvement could he possibly make?

Just an fyi:

Marc (at Lausanne) 26 ppg 14 rpg 6 blocks. Mr. basketball.
Moussa (at Lausanne) 18 ppg 15 rpg 9 blocks. Mr. Basketball.

It wasn't like Marc was some bumbling oaf who couldn't walk and chew gum.
