The way to bribe the American is to take your school's, say $12m Football budget and up it to $19m a year (if spent wisely) with all that new money you printed up to try and bride the AAC. Assuming you are not throwing it down the rat hole but actually investing in things to improve your football team, it's coaching and it's recruiting strength, then I guarantee you will catch the attention of the AAC. That is how you "buy" your way in.
Now go raise that extra $6-7m to donate to football every year. Your school will thank you.
What if the fee was 10 million and the conference then used that as start-up money to create a high playing bowl that would have a payout large enough to attract a quality P5 opponent? THATS a long term investment in the conference that could potentially pay dividends to its membership for decades.
