Unless we have an amazing comeback up our sleeve the season is over, although we would have a meaningless game to play on Wednesday. Still have plenty of innings left, but I didn't see this as a good matchup to begin with.
It most likely will be meaningless to us, but we won’t play again until Thursday against South Alabama. #1 East USA has the best record in the conference, so since we are getting crushed by the #6 East team, not much to pin hopes on.
But we swept USA at home. Go figure.
We were playing like a different team back then! The wheels came off for some reason.
Really disappointing, but pretty much par for the course for our decades of following LR baseball. I always come back to wondering "Can we ever have a successful baseball program at UA-LR". I think Curry is a fine coach. Maybe there is a "Chris Beard" of baseball out there, but I really don't think we could do much better. Sure, Gary Hogan Field doesn't compare to the actual baseball stadiums they have at ULL and CC. But, we have made it into a beautiful facility, a great place to watch a game which seats more than we ever need. I guess, for the most part, we are competitive (let's forget yesterday) in a very solid baseball conference. Maybe that's as good as it's going to get. Year in and year out, it's hard to imagine we are ever going to have the programs that exist at ULL, CC, and USA. I just would like to be able to make the NCAA's once in awhile.
