This rule fundamentally changes the rules of recruiting and if we shun transfers and just sign freshman, they will leave for P5 schools if they get a chance. Plain and simple. Now the only good thing is that I’m not sure all of the foreigns will. MJS mentioned in an earlier post if I consider Beard old school, I do with the exception that Beard has shown the ability to roll with the changes, I want to see that out of Darrell and I have not yet.
Concerning Walker, I refer you back to the article in the ADG’s last Sunday edition.
I'm hoping his comment was to cover himself for not getting the LR/AR transfers that many of us thought he might, not an indication that he was really not interested in signing transfers. When we are losing upper classmen, to other schools, it makes no sense not to fill those sports with other experienced players.
With all due respect to you MJS, and all others who post on this board, including myself, I seriously doubt that Walker or his staff pay much, if any, attention to the thoughts posted on this board. And that applies to all other coaching staffs in College Basketball that I know of.
Don't disagree with you, but I think even some of his razorback friends probably suggested he try an sign Ethan Henderson, Desi Sills, and/or Darious Hall. Every hog fan knew the first 2 were available and many were aware that Hall was transferring again. I just wondered if his comment (I'm not much interested in transfers) was a "cover" for not getting any of those kids. Just hard to imagine we were not interested in any of the Arkansas kids in the portal, since most were 3 or 4 stars out of high school.
Again, Walker probably isn’t interested in anything fans on our board or anyone else’s board post. I would venture that the only Razorback friends he might be interested in listening to are named Stephens and Walton who made sure he got his job! And as far as I know, they have limited knowledge of what is involved in college basketball coaching. I see no reason not to just take Walker at his word.
