I have no more idea what is actually real here and neither do you. I read the article someone posted on page one and that seems to clear some of it up, it depends on consent and the age restrictions of whatever State the sex may or may have not taken place.

Try harder.

Please be better.

Age of consent is 18. So yes, it's illegal.

There are exceptions that minors aged 16 and 17 can date adults older than 18, but I think 23 is the cut off limit.

Is that a Fed age of consent or does it vary by state? Article on page one said the age in the DC cesspool is 16(!). Does there have to be a "victim" here, a transaction, or can the "State" bring charges regardless?

Asking for a friend.

It varies by state. For instance, in Florida, it's 18, or 16 if you're within in a certain age of the younger individual.

The age of consent in Georgia and Alabama is 16 regardless of circumstances (except if you're an employee of a school).

DC is 16 as long as the older person is not in a position of authority of the younger person. For instance, a pastor, teacher, employer, etc...

When I was a HS senior, I was 17 and dated a 21 year old so we looked these things up to make sure we were in the clear.

I have no idea about the latter portion of your question.

See, that's what I was wondering. Thanks.

Interesting, could that "crossing State lines" be from Fl to Ga? As long as it wasn't a prostitution thing, does the "act", whatever that may be, become legal? Rhetorical question, kinda. Adds some pause as to whether there could be something to this story.

Or, perhaps nothing at all. Guess we'll find out. 24-72 hour rule in effect.
