My guess is that if you're on the committee or listed as an advisor you've taken yourself out of the running. Same thing applies to Al Albert.

IMO, a minority hire is the way to go, especially in light of the racial insensitivity claims made by Latrelle Smith. I'm not asking for an affirmative action hire, but surely there's a qualified AD candidate that is also a minority. I'd also be looking for someone on the young side of 50.

Not to derail the thread but can someone drop a link to wherever this was discussed? This is the first I heard of that.
