Lomax has had 5 games with 3 or more turnovers this season compared to Baugh's 2 games with 3 or more...granted Lomax has seen increased minutes over the last 5 games.

Nolley with 7 games of 3 or more turnovers this season

Boogie with 5 games of 3 or more turnovers this season

Really Quinones has the least turnovers this season, but he just doesn't have the handles or quickness to run point.

Bring me back to at least trying out Baugh and see what he can do for a game or two at the point position.

We have posters who want to give more minutes to Boogie and Baugh, who since Wichita State, collectively have 14 assists and 17 turnovers, versus Lomax who has 42 assists and 15 turnovers in 58 LESS minutes over the last 7 games. Average it out over 40 minutes and it is nothing short of a bloodbath. Boogie and Baugh are at 13.2 points, 2.5 assists and 3.0 turnovers. Lomax is at 15.7 points, 10.0 assists and 3.5 turnovers.

Our point guard play is finally semi decent and we have fans doing cartwheels trying to find any excuse in the book to sit Lomax.

Boogie 7 assists, 8 turnovers

It is incredible how some of our fans call Boogie our "real" point guard, say that Penny should give Boogie a game all his no matter what to go wild, and that when it is OBVIOUS that Baugh is nowhere near able to run a D1 offense; they STILL want to find crazy excuses to sit Lomax.

Penny DOES have to find a way to get Boogie and especially Baugh going. Both lack confidence; Baugh's is totally shot. Baugh has been playing much better off of the ball lately, making very nice cuts to the baskets and finding gaps where he has been good from outside.

The way it happens when you have Derrick Rose, CDR or even Will Barton is to give them their minutes knowing that they will work out of it soon. With players like Boogie and Baugh, the solution is universal to any sport with every single player at their level.

They just have to keep working hard in practice, and they have to find a way to maximize the minutes they get to earn more minutes. Many of us have been on both ends of it. When you are a very good player, you can do different things to break out of it, because you get lots of minutes. When you're not a great player, it can be really cruel. Every single mistake is magnified 10X and the pressure is awful.

However it happens, the answer right now is NOT to give Baugh or Boogie any of Lomax's very well earned minutes. I do agree that Boogie should be getting some of Jayden's minutes, because Jayden is in a funk also. Not Lomax.

I only said to run the offense "through him" in a game or two to see if we can get him back on track confidence-wise and let him find his shot, whether that is on drives to the bucket or in mid-range to 3 game. I did not say let him run the offense. He probably is more suited for the 2 position because of his average handles. He needs to get a few more touches on offense in the game. I like a lineup with Lomax, Baugh, Nolley, Williams, Cisse. It doesn't really matter if that ends up being the starting lineup though because Penny is going to sub in guys every 3-4 minutes anyways. I definitely agree that Lomax needs to be on the court to break any press or distribute. Don't make me out to be a hater on any of these guys because I am rooting for all of their success. The more players we have reaching their goals, the better off this team will produce throughout the season. Now that we have Lomax playing his best ball, Cisse taping into his potential on defense and lob passes (that are put on the money, otherwise trainwreck), Nolley hitting 3s, Williams being a swiss-army knife, and Quinones being the glue guy - we need to now see if we can get Baugh to play up to his potential and Boogie for that matter.

What you said was worse...

Quote:I want to see 1 game where Coach Penny tells Baugh this is your game to go nuts. Be selfish with your shot selection and try to drive to the bucket aggressively, shoot the open 3s, run the offense through him. It would be nice to see this happen if we ever had a 25+ point lead early on in a game, but I just want to see an offense built around him for a game and see what he is capable of doing with that time.

Lighten up Francis...

Run the offense through 3.9 points per game Baugh, like he's Michael Jordan or James Harden. Showcase his mad skillz and let him put up 25-30 shots and see what happens. I'm sure it will turn out awesome.

OR...

Put down the pipe.
