Oh well. Too bad about the bench-clearing brawl. That was ridiculous.
IIRC, they said there was a skirmish before the game too, right?
The brawl sucked.
But, why was it a surprise? The spread was even (+/- 1) at kickoff. The AAC is 1-4 in bowl games against equal or lesser teams. The AAC is proving they are not all that.
But again, the brawl sucked and took away from a good game.
I guess because Tulsa was ranked #24 and was the AAC runner-up while Mississippi State was 3-7, finished 12th in the SEC and could never have qualified for a bowl in any other year?
In a year where there was little OOC play, there’s really no way to know how good Tulsa was or how bad Miss St was. Being 1-4 in bowl games, the AAC is showing they were overrated. Again, on paper (betting odds), this was an even game from the start. So, not really a surprise.
Agree about the AAC being overrated. But that happens when you go from a good year to a bad year. LSU was ranked in the Top 10 to start this season, and were nowhere near that good, because they were coming off a great 2019.
Heck, with about two minutes left in the game, one announcer said the AAC had had its best season ever, which was just ludicrous.
