RE: So, Appalachian State fans....
I had no issues with Peterson's play calling. It's easy to blame the OC for a lack of production, but how many weapons can you take away and still be productive? Peterson didn't have the luxury of the personnel Satterfield or Drinkwitz had at their disposal. Do ya think Tony's play calling might have been a tad more inventive with Evan's 3000 yards rushing, 300 yds receiving and 34 TD's; Sutton's 1375 yards & 17 TD's and the best blocking TE on the field? Could it possibly be the play selection may have been influenced during the year with his best route runner, 50-50 ball receiver and tough catch guy; fastest WR and top deep threat; top returning RB lost for season in 5th game and co-starter injured in opening game, who never fully recovers and lost completely for several games. Why we're at it take away his returning TE halfway into 1st game for the next 3 and is never fully 100% the remainder of the season. Toss in the whole Covid thing and being shut down three weeks in the middle of the season and it's ridiculous to even attempt to compare this year with the past 2 or 3.
