Another blow to cord cutters seeking affordable sports programming.
Hulu + Live TV will continue to carry local ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC affiliates, TBS, TNT, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews, ACCN, SECN, BTN, FS1, FS2, CBSSN, NBCSN, Golf, The Olympic Channel and the NBC RSNs. They lack most other RSNs, including the Fox/Sinclair RSNs (which holds rights to ACC and CUSA game packages), as well as NFL Network, MLB Network, NBA TV and Pac 12 Network.
In raising the price, it follows increases earlier this year made by YouTube TV and Fubo TV.
With respect to value, it appears to me that the Max package offered by AT&T TV Now (formerly AT&T TV Now) offers the best value for those wanting the most complete suite of sports channels. Although it costs $80/month, that price includes HBO Max and Cinemax, essentially for only $15. It includes the most complete group of RSNs, including the RSNs for 19 of the top 20 TV markets. Like Hulu, it does lack NFL Network, MLB Network, NBA TV and Pac 12 Network.
For a more limited package, Vidgo is an excellent deal. It lacks any RSNs, as well as TBS and TNT with their important sports packages, including the NCAA tournament. Its $45 package, though, has an extensive suite of sports channels, as well as local ABC and FOX affiliates.
