There was only one angle that showed it well, but Butler hit Wells square in the facemask (mask to mask). Announcers never picked it up, though. That said, I thought after review, they got it correct. It wasn’t a malicious shot at the head, it just happened in the flow of play.

The Beckett play was almost identical. Had they thrown out Butler, then they should have thrown out Beckett. Since they didn’t throw out Butler, they shouldn’t have thrown out Beckett. They were consistent.
