It's been 5 years of mediocrity at Virginia Tech so it's understandable from them. It's been one year for HCRS. Our fans are insane. We lost our headcoach, all American runningback, and all american WR then people expect another run at a cotton bowl. This year is identity building for HCRS. People don't understand the mental aspect of sports.

Coxie is missed - for sure. But let's be clear. He was not an "all american".
People are not expecting another cotton bowl. We are just expecting a team that can put away a woeful USF team, and doesn't look completely overwhelmed by Cincy.

Yeah our backup receivers don't seem to be much of a falloff after Coxie.

But Gainwell...Now that is a different conversation. The run game is likely a combination of running back and Offensive line though so we probably shouldn't hang all the deficiency at the feet of the backs.
