FIU has never eclipsed 20K at home since joining CUSA, thats sad. Their biggest crowd was 2016 vs UCF with 18,524 people (How many of those belonged to UCF, seriously). They hosted Indiana and Maryland in 2016 and drew 16,089 for Indiana and 17,084 for Maryland. They also hosted Pittsburgh and Louisville in 2014 and had 10,127 for Pittsburgh and 10,824 for Louisville.

Edit: They have hosted Indiana twice. Again in 2018 and drew 17,082. So with 5 games against P5 schools at home, they can't even drag 20K people to watch.

Who cares if their enrollment is 55K, I doubt even 10% of that 55K has ever been to a game. The admin of FIU may have tried to look like they were trying to improve FIU when hiring Butch Davis. But the facilities at FIU are more in line with a low level IAA school than a IA school. Not just football but almost all the facilities. I would have rather them hire a no name and put money into facilities.
