His tweet announcing his commitment says he is 6'7". At 265 they are going to want him to bulk up some.

We were his only D1 offer but it appears from his twitter that he performed well in camps and scouts like Edgy Tim really like his potential. This could be a case of we got in early to the party. I agree with Steve it appears he is still growing and a redshirt year is in the offing. I love the fact that we can now redshirt our true frosh.

I wouldn't worry about counting scholarship offers as of June 17 (yesterday) of a pandemic year. It means little this year. The common metrics, e.g., offers, unofficial visits, etc. is wacky this year.

I assume he has been on campus (maybe June 1???) and liked what he saw.

If I were a h.s. player, I'd attend camps, see who is interested, make any kind of visit (within driving distance), etc. and try to make an early decision.

I'll repeat what I've said before, December will be crazy. There is a 'backlog' of maybe prep school players, JUCOs, etc. trying to get signed as well as the h.s. class of 2022. They all know that hell will break loose when the transfer portal re-opens. I'd think the D-I coaches know which h.s./prep/JUCO players would NORMALLY have signed in Feb. but got frozen out because of the pandemic/super senior/transfer portal craziness.

In the 'good ole days' there was one signing period, and the ducks quickly got in line and in order. Now it is chaotic. Like planes landing at LAX. Planes circling and circling trying to get permission to find a runway to land on...
