Toledo has a crime rate of 46 per 1,000 compared to Chicago’s 43 per thousand. That’s from neighborhood scout.

That is really interesting to me. Most people think Chicago is not safe and is the murder capital of the country. DeKalb is a small town but, I have seen discussion on this board about the perception that parents/students dont think DeKalb is safe. Then getting back to Toledo, I dont recall ever seeing that kind of discussion about parents/students not thinking Toledo isnt safe. I guess its funny how the world views perception versus reality. I certainly perceived Toledo to be safer then Chicago. I am glad those corrupt politicians got arrested!
