WAC Athletic Budgets
Update: I changed the thread name to budgets instead of fees. It appears all schools go about it differently, but the most important thing is coming up with a healthy athletic budget. Tarleton uses a fee increase and will continue to rely on donors to get to $15-20 mil for 2020-21. This is not including A&M funding for facility upgrades.

Before making the move to D1 and the WAC, Tarleton voted to nearly double it's athletic fee to $35/credit hour. We were operating for years with one of the lowest athletic fees in the Lone Star Conference at $22/credit hour.

We also got a new President just before the move up, and his main objective is to increase enrollment. Just built a new campus in Fort Worth that is predicted to nearly double enrollment over the next few years. Higher enrollment + higher athletic fees = more money to go toward salaries, recruiting, facilities, travel, etc.

That's great, but I wonder if $35/credit hour is enough to get our facilities on par with our competition. I know the A&M BOR has alotted millions for future upgrades, but that takes time to come to fruition.

So I'm curious, what is the athletic fee for your institution. And what other type of funds are used to build these impressive WAC facilities?
