I cannot defend Wetherbee in any way, he seems to be wanting with respect to administrative skills. Announce Murphy is coming back but do you really have to make the comment, "if you haven't won in ten years, maybe you need to do something else". A spot on, fabulously genuine comment that should have been shared ONLY with Rob Murphy and NOT with the news media. Apparently our AD does not realize that potential recruits have access to the news media and does not consider the negative effects of such a comment to the program.

Then again this is the guy who informed us that if he knew EMU was going to have to cut sports, he might not have taken the job. Additionally without HIS extension of Murphy two seasons ago, his dismissal now would have cost EMU nothing. I think the Peter Principle has proven itself here. We have a Men's basketball coach and an Athletic Director punching way beyond their weight class. Neither owns any responsibility for failures.
Yeah he hasnt impressed me the AD
