What if Norvell is waiting to see how playoff/conference expansion plays out?
Not an original thought and he could obviously still leave, but it's not something we talk about near as where he could possibly go for his next job.

What if instead of waiting for the "best coaching job", he is holding out to see how these expansion routes turn out?

The talk about playoff expansion happening in the next few years continues to ramp up to the point that makes it seem to likely happen soon. Like others to me the most logical would be five spots to the P5 conference champs, best G5 conference champ, and two at-large bids. If it does happen like this, Norvell seems to have the team in a place to where it could make a playoff run every year.

With conference expansion, it's likely to happen after a playoff expansion so it may hold less weight in comparison. That said it is "just" 4-5 years away depending on which conference you look at. He would not have to leave for a Power 5 conference job since his current one would become one.

He seems to have the program running like he wants and can continue to build on it to have consistent success. So what do you think about him just sitting tight and waiting?
