It’s not all the O-line. They’re average. The WRs are average and the QB hasn’t played in two years and is learning a new system. The QB has just over 2 seconds on average to through the ball. I’d go back and look at those “running for his life” plays and see if he was passed the two second mark. I’m guessing the WRs aren’t open and his mental clock is saying panic.

The O-line needs to improve(as do the WRs and Bowers), but he’s not getting sacked much at all and he’s not an elusive or big guy. If the o-line was truly terrible he’d be getting sacked more. Not just pressures. But it’s a unit that relies on three positions to work in cohesion. All 3 need to be better.

I watched Bowers gain more time with his feet, avoiding a few sacks. Was anybody open though? Usually not. I just wish he would run occasionally when he can get a few yards rather than throw a very low percentage pass to a guy that isn't open.

Agreed. I am actually curious if he was told not to scramble for some reason though because against Illinois State and Utah I thought he scrambled well.
