It’s no wonder we have such a terrible TV deal. People just don’t care to watch CUSA games, even the own fans. Not to mention, aren’t these CBS Sports games the tier-1 rights for CUSA games???

That's inaccurate. 4k viewings. I've got 30 people at my bar watching one of those. I imagine there are more sets of eyes on all of those. And it's the chicken or the egg. A lot of people don't even know how to get the Facebook streams. People ask all day long how they can watch the game and on the message boards. So the TV deal has killed viewership just as much as the viewership has killed TV. If we were on ESPN right now more people than just the fans who aren't at the game and the fans, at all, would be watching because it's football on ESPN. There is zero casual draw for streamed games.

No one is going out of their way to watch that absolute **** unless they are a fan of one of the teams or a CUSA fan curious about an upcoming matchup with one of the teams.

We did however have 32k last week for our game vs Cincy. And almost 28k for the Ohio game. I'm not worried about our fans impact on the CUSA TV deal. I'm worried about the other 11-12 teams in this conference that don't have any fans.

First of all, see my follow up post.

Secondly, ok let’s assume there’s another 20 bars across the state of WV with a similar setup as the one you’re at, 30ish people watching (which I’m willing to bet there isn’t)...but still, let’s assume there is. That’s still only 500 more people on top of the 4k people watching online. That’s still terrible.

Lol, there's 20 bars in Huntington, alone, showing this game with more than that in them....now add MTSU places, now add everyone gathered around TVs that are streaming the game at watching parties and family rooms, add the fact that unlike TV ratings the facebook stream isn't cumulative. It tells who is on at any given time, but people who tuned in would be much higher if done like TV counts.

And also add in the fact that we're only on Facebook because we got picked first by the highest tier of the CUSA TV package to be there for all 12 games. USM didn't even garner any interest by CUSA tier one carriers. So stop telling us how we are responsible for you having the 3rd and 4th options for watching your games.

PS it's not the bar I'm at....it's the bar I own.
