ESPN FPI uses number of games played on ESPN and the SEC network as a key metric , obviously it is flawed.*
*slight exaggeration but ESPN FPI is bogus as a three dollar bill- Ole Miss, utk and UCLA are ranked ahead of us in this useless poll 
If UTK and Ole Miss had played our cupcake schedule and not an SEC schedule, they would be 2-0 too...
So if Ole Miss had played Ole Miss and Southern they would be 2-0?
That's what I always hear from SEC fans so it must be true
It's absolutely the truth... in their minds. It's how Bama, who played three ranked teams in the regular season, played a much tougher schedule than anyone else.
Or how Georgia, who played Austin Peay, MTSU, UMass and GA Tech can still be considered a tough schedule because they played 3 ranked teams in the regular season (4 if you count a 6-6 South Carolina that never deserved to be ranked).
The strength of the SEC lies in the perception of the SEC. Their preseason rankings keep them ranked because beating a ranked SEC school carries a lot of weight, even if that school was overranked to begin the season.
