The best finish of the young season that most fans missed
Glad I tuned in when I did just over a minute left. Purdue had a 31-17 lead into the 4th. Sensational grab by Nevada’s WR falling backward to the sideline at Purdue’s 20. Sets up a shot at the corner of the end zone that could’ve been ruled a TD/INT/incomplete. Purdue’s D runs off like it’s picked off. After review they called it incomplete.

A couple plays later they connect on the TD to make it 30-31. An unsportsmanlike conduct call on the Receiver for the Cam Newton Superman makes it a long XP. Nevada’s Fr. Kicker converts it for the tie.

The ensuing kick return gives Purdue possession at their 28 with :50 left. On 2nd down they are picked off at midfield with :38 on the clock. Another 15yd penalty on Nevada pushes them back to the 35. 4yd pass, incomplete (damn near sacked) and 10yd pass, sets up a huge 12 yd gain on 1st down to Purdue’s 39 on the sideline with :03 left.

Enter the young kicker in another clutch situation. Purdue tries to ice him. Following the timeout he nails the 56yd FG for the 34-31 win!
