Passing of former ODU coach, wrestler and former local HS coach Jamie Kelly
Jamie Kelly, a 1998 NCAA national qualifier for Old Dominion and a former assistant coach, passed away on Tuesday at age 44.
JK was a good friend and a better person. He was a Great Bridge alum, where he wrestled for current ODU coach Steve Martin, then wrestled for local product Gray Simons at ODU before coaching at Cox H.S. in Virginia Beach. He returned to ODU in the 2003-04 season as an assistant coach with Jeff Rusak in Simons' final season at the helm.
Jamie also posted on this board frequently as well, his fandom of ODU football and wrestling as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers was apparent.

Rough day all around for the local wrestling community as Jamie was friends with so many folks because he was such a great human being.
