Serial serious NCAA violations if memory serves.

Basketball recruiting violations. Go on probation, clean house. Hire a new coach, start winning, discover he's cheating.

The kicker was Pan Am when they had to fill out the suggested punishment put down the death penalty because they were death eligible. NCAA was like oh heck no, you aren't getting off that easy.

It wasn't so much the serial cheating (which never sits well with presidents and chancellors) as it was the BS stunt of asking for the death penalty that lit the fuses around the league.

Really interesting info! Thanks!
