Sounds good but an NY6 only gives you 12 spots so not all of the Top 16 will find a spot.

Move it to a NY8 though and there is room for the full Top 16.

The other four spots are the CFP semifinals.

In my world, the NY6 are separate from the CFP, though they include guaranteed spots for the CFP quarterfinal losers. They are:

Rose......B1G vs PAC
Sugar.....SEC vs B12
Orange...ACC/ND vs SEC
Fiesta.....PAC vs MWC
Peach.....B1G vs AAC
Cotton....B12 vs At large

If a conference doesn't have enough teams in the Top 16 to fill these commitments, their spot becomes at large. So, let's say in 2018 Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and Ohio State win their quarterfinal game and advance in the CFP. Because the MWC did not have a team in the Top 16, the NY6 pairings are:

Rose......(7) Michigan vs (9) Washington
Sugar.....(10) Florida vs (4) Oklahoma
Orange...(3) Notre Dame vs (11) LSU
Fiesta.....(13) Washington St vs (16) West Virginia
Peach.....(12) Penn State vs (8) UCF
Cotton....(15) Texas vs (14) Kentucky
