RE: Athletically-is Liberty our Daddy?
Of course they are not our Daddy, but they are surely gaining on us. They have all the resources money can buy and don’t have the State legislature fighting them and holding them back. They’ll be as good as they want to be and they can afford. The school has vision. They openly state their goal to be the Protestant Notre Dame. I respect them chasing big dreams. I wish ODU would do, instead of just accepting their place because the state says they have to. We just have to step it up. I’m tired of excuses. There is no reason ODU can’t strive to be VT of the east, no reason we should be behind GMU in academic rankings, no reason our hoops program can’t be better than VCU, no reason we can’t have facilities like JMU other than small time thinking and not trying harder.
