This past year our offense had:
The League player of the year two times running at QB
The League newcomer of the year at WR
The League Freshman of the year at RB
We went 8-5 and just finished a bowl game where we failed to score on 6 different occasions inside our opponents 10 yard line.
That's coaching...
Buster is amazing at destroying FCS schools and bad FBS defenses. We took real advantage of the bottom of the Sun Belt. But when he plays a team with a pulse, the offense suddenly becomes stagnant, and he has no idea how to get out of it. His Red Zone offense is abhorrent. We had 700 yards of offense on Troy in 2017 and scored 25 points. The numbers look great, sure. But the record never matches, and that's why he's bouncing around the CUSA and SBC and not coaching in the SEC.
Maybe he won't work out....who knows? But according to Arky StAte fans and MTSU fans, we have no chance.....so, we'd be better off dropping college football since he didn't lead 2 obvious dynamic football programs to the national championship...
We're just saying that he has a track record that speaks for itself. Does he win more than he loses? Yes. Does he have the ability that a Kendall Briles has to call games? No. That's ok and it's not a strikeout hire but it's not a home run hire either. If you have a good D, you should be fine. If he is very successful there it will be a breakthrough for him. He's not trending on that level but who knows?
