It doesn't seem like a complete coincidence that the outspoken players during the coaching change were all Huggins era Bearcats.

The whole NVE twitter outrage by some former guys has solidified to me that it was best for the university and the athletic department to move away from the Bob Huggins/Mick Cronin coaching tree for this hire.

It is imperative that our student-athlete alums continue to support their school throughout their lifetime, regardless of who the coach is. As Jerry pointed out on the last page, he doesn't see this at WVU. Frankly, I don't see it anywhere else.

This is coming from a guy who was a student during the Huggins Final Four and early Elite Eight teams. I've always been a fan, but I have to say I am disappointed of the way some of these guys who went on to make a lot of money have failed to give back to their alma mater.

Bobby Knight, Woody Hayes, and Joe Paterno also had cult followings. So it happens at other schools. Sometimes you need to be a few coaches removed to get over it.
