You make a great point, Jack. Pushing to Paris is another tough,long leg, actually farther than I realized. It will be interesting to see what he does. I made a number of ocean crossings in the F-4, including four non-stop 11/12 hour flights between New Mexico and Germany, and it's physically tough being in the seat that long -- not able to stand up and stretch.
I used to put the G suit on over the poopy suit and use the G Suit test to pump the blood in and out of my legs. Those long over the pond flights were difficult on the body. On one crossing I was the number two ground spare for a sister squadron and ended up leading the third wave when all was said and done. When I pulled off my helmet after landing the crew chief looked at me and said "Who the hell are your!"
