I didn't take your comments as rude but obviously other fans do care about these things. I don't agree that players and managers don't care about this game - athletes are competitive by nature. This is an opportunity for them to play against the best of the best and against players that they don't normally have an opportunity or familiarity with. Did you watch the whole game? Did you see the reaction of players for each team after a home run was hit or how hard and determined some of the pitchers were throwing and their facial expressions (Max Scherzer for example)? I'm not saying that players and managers dream of winning the all star game but don't tell me that they don't take it that seriously or want bragging rights for the year. This all star game blows away the NFL's and NBA's game in my opinion because of the rich tradition and competitiveness of it.
