Congrats to the Cubs and their recent success, but you would have to pay me to visit Wrigley. The place is a total dump, that is not overstated. Id take the south side stadium any day of the week for a bowl game. I know it was not well attended because of the decline NIU football is in and the ESPN weeknight thing, but to Frazier's credit that NIU/Toledo game was executed wonderfully and was an incredible experience for those who attended.
Probably not going to change your perception, but if you haven't been to or around Wrigley in the last 2-3 years, it's a huge difference.
I was there for Brewers - Cubs in April. The place is magnificent. Very modern inside and out and still has the old ballpark feel to it. Lot of room to roam in the concourses (even with 40,000 there for a day game) and the outside of the park is awesome—-with even more to come. Of course, it was cold but to call it a total dump is just an indication that he hasn’t been there recently. I had a good time also at the NIU/Toledo game, but I am sure NIU took a major loss on that one. Absolutely Wrigley would have drawn more fans, but night football in the middle of the week with two so-so teams, neither playing on or near their campus, is an ill conceived notion to begin with.
