Except he'll probably have 9 starts by the time the Rockets travel to DeKalb.

For the Rockets sake there won’t be a qb battle dragging on into the season. Though Childers had 8 or so starts, he didn’t have all that preseason practice time with the ones. So while game action is the most crucial thing for an development, I’d put practice reps with the first team right behind it. This year is much better for NIU having that clear #1.

I’m not sure what Toledo’s situation is, but I do know you don’t want one guy starting one week, then the other guy the next. That’s unavoidable sometimes but tough to go through.

I thought Childers did a very good job for coming in as the #3 QB. Should be very very solid this season.
