Quote:A man took a knee during the national anthem at President Trump's "Celebration of America" event Tuesday amid renewed uproar over NFL protests during the song.
European reporters captured a photo and video of the unidentified individual kneeling during a performance of the national anthem.
Do you kneel during the national anthem?
No, but I would stay in my seat if I feel like pissing off some snowflakes. It's funny you don't mind that Trump took a knee during Vietnam.
Trump didn't take a knee during Vietnam. He didn't go, but neither did a lot of other people, including Bill Clinton, who was IMO a good president. GWB sorta served, sorta sat it out. And Obama wasn't in the age pool to go.
I didn't take a knee, I went--twice. But I know a lot of people who did sit it out, and at the time that was not an unreasonable position for them to take.
I do think it is interesting that 3 out of our last 4 never served, and the one who served did so in a part-time manner, after a fairly long run of people who served. It's like the importance of military service to becoming president has declined. At the same time, we've found ourselves getting into a lot more no-win wars. I would guess there is some correlation there.
