I’m hoping that what you said was a bit of the advice given to him.
There is no question that this team has talent. With the addition of a big for center, this team can absolutely go all the way. But, what I think we saw last year was that some of these players were selfish and the team did not really gel. I also sense that there is not much respect for Monty. If this continues, it will be dangerous because all the talent in the world won't make it unless the team actually plays like a team. Here's hoping that somewhere they were able to get that message.
1. Why do you say some players were selfish? You could stretch that Geno was selfish but he did what he did because he knew he could score and usually he did score.
2. Why do you say there is no respect for Monty? I do not see lack of
respect and what you say is an easy excuse when the team is not winning. He is a class act and he and his team is getting no respect at the gate. I wish I could attend every game as they are a fun team to watch.
3. How do they not play as a team? Don't tell me there have been yelling matches, because that just shows me they want to win.
Instead of most of you just bitching about this team, turn off espn3 and go to the convo. And take a friend.
If Key comes back healthy and plays at or better than 16-17 and if Daow progresses and can score in double figures this will be the best team NIU has had in ions.
GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I go to the games at the Convo. I watch the away games on ESPN3. It is apparent that either you have not seen the games or perhaps the Florida sun and heat have dulled your senses a bit. If the team was as perfect and harmonious as you suggest, then those arguments and altercations on the floor and the poor record must be an illusion.
Also, I'm wondering if you're aware that NIU was right at the bottom of the country in assists? Did you see all those games with single-digit assists?
DF ....thanks for going to the games. Next year I am IN.
