You're right. The designers are selling the C-design based on sun protection and concert suitability. My concern is that the number of available sideline seats will be less than the 20K-plus UH football fans who've historically occupied sideline seats at Aloha Stadium (a 50K seat facility that has around 30K available sideline seats). Are some of those fans going to be happy settling for end zone seats or will they say to heck with it and watch the games on TV? If the C-design is implemented I foresee significant risk of reduced ticket revenue at a time the UH administration is pressing the athletic program to directly cover more of its costs.

I tend to vote for the traditional stadium design. Actually, I would rather forgo the end zone seats if one section has to go.

If for no other reason, sideline seats are far superior to end zone seats. Sitting in the end zone makes for some of the worst seating in all of sport. Mainly, it's the depth perception, but when the action is on the other end of the field it's nigh on impossible to even tell what's happening.
