Wayne LaPierre Asks if We Love 'Celebrities More Than...Our Children'
Quote:During his speech at CPAC, NRA chief Wayne LaPierre hit back at critics and had harsh words to say in light of the most recent school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

LaPierre is a well-known supporter of the Second Amendment and made it very clear in his speech that the right to bear arms was not the problem. He was extremely critical of the lack of security in schools and compared it to sporting events and awards shows.

He also slammed critics who wish to politicize the shooting in order to push their agenda.

“They hide behind labels like Democrat, left-wing, and progressive to make their socialist agenda more palatable, and that is terrifying,” LaPierre said.

He stated that the organization shared many of the same goals as activists but did not agree it should start with those who followed the law.

“What they want is more restrictions on the law-abiding,” LaPierre said. “They want to sweep right under the carpet the failure of school security.”
