Thank you so much for posting a link to this article. As I read it, tears were falling at the heartfelt comments from Jim Phillips and the horrific description of what Cole Hall became that day. Jim Phillips accepted the job offer at NU but told them he could not leave right then. He stayed for 2 months after he accepted that job because NIU needed him. He put that above his own personal life . This speaks volumes for the kind of man he is. Wow. He has my undying loyalty & admiration.

I remember this day vividly. My son calling from a landline in Stevenson (cell phones would not work) to tell my husband & I he was safe - that there had been a shooting on campus & that it was going to be on national news any minute.
My heart still breaks for the parents who lost their children & for the students injured.

I will never forget.
